Research Triangle, NC, April, 2004 – Dr. Mitch Javidi, Founder and CEO, of Digiton Corporation has been recognized by the faculty of the Department of Communication and Management at the University of Oklahoma as its 2004 Distinguished Alumni.

Each year Oklahoma’s University Department of Communication and Management honors one former graduate. Dr. Javidi received his vote by a unanimous decision from the department’s faculty.

An awards banquet will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Lloyd Noble Center at Oklahoma University. Members from the faculty and staff and graduate and undergraduate students will be attending. After receiving his Distinguished Alumni Award, Dr. Javidi will speak about his experience at Oklahoma University, what it has meant to him, and the supply chain trends in the pharmaceutical industry.

“I was speechless when I received the news.  I am honored to be recognized by my Alma Mater and feel fortunate to be recognized by those who shaped my thinking” said Dr. Javidi. 

Dr. Javidi earned his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma and is an internationally recognized strategist in demand management, competitive positioning, and global marketing.  He has received other honors including: Person of the Year In 1998 by the National Society of Accountants in recognition of his market research and strategic counsel, Honorary Member in 1999 by the United States Department of Defense Special Operations Command in recognition of his strategic contributions to the core, and the academy of Outstanding Teachers at NC State University.

Dr. Javidi is a frequent speaker on competitive intelligence and market strategies for various industries including life sciences, telecommunications, retail and service. He serves on the board of the National Association of Corporate Directors and select private and public corporations.
